DLP Constructing Company starts excavation in the future lot for Anacleto Angelini Center

February 2012.- Just recently, DLP Constructing Company has allotted the work which shall develop the excavation, reinforcement, underpinning, and anchoring of the land in which the Anacleto Angelini Center for technological innovation will be located; within the San Joaquín Campus of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC).

In this way, DLP Constructing Company began, together with the cooperation of 50 workers approximately, the excavation and removal of 45,000 cubic meters of material to be removed so as to accommodate the three underground levels of the future building. Likewise, DLP is in charge of the execution of the underpinning of 96 cells and their corresponding temporary post-tensioning anchoring.

Three months are the estimated time for the work to be completed. After that, the University (PUC) plans to begin with the construction of a building that shall aim to promote the development of technological research and projects, based mainly on innovation. Furthermore, this work is expected to be inaugurated during 2013, which will mark 125 years of this institution’s foundation, plus the fact that this same year has been defined by the government as “The Year for Innovation”.
